Pet of the Week: Maddie
Maddie is a petite black and white girl, approximately one year of age. She came to us with kittens in the spring of 2011. All the kittens have been placed in new homes. Maddie might be small but she's one tough girl. She is playful and fearless. She is living with other cats but we don't know how she'd be with dogs. Foster an SOS Cat
Adult and senior cats that were previously adopted are coming back at an alarming rate - due to the economy.
We are actively seeking volunteers willing to foster these displaced cats. These felines are looking for stability in their lives again and are usually very affectionate. Foster participants must be able to drive, have their own transportation and be available for a home visit from a current volunteer prior to fostering. Litter and cat food are provided if needed. Gulfport Pet Project
The Gulfport Pet Project is an ongoing project where artists Anna Hamilton and Mary Megan Barrett are raising money for Save Our Strays and Limbo Chihuahua, through Murals for Mutts. Murals for Mutts raises money for animal welfare by painting murals on highly visible walls in communities around the country. Your pet’s portrait can be painted on a building in Gulfport, Florida!
Price: $100 for cats and dogs; other animal available on request. Space is limited. Contact Dawn to reserve your pet’s spot on one of Gulfport’s local businesses. Great gift idea for a pet lover!

Shirts are available at our PetSmart adoption site on Tyrone Boulevard on Saturdays and at Safety Harbor’s Third Friday series in downtown Safety Harbor from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm – next up is December 16th. Catnip mice ($2), kitty kickers ($5) and colorful pet collars ($4) also make nice stocking stuffers for cats.
