| Be A Foster Home!
If you or any one you know would like to care for a pregnant or nursing cat, please let us know. This involves a minimum four month commitment. Call (727)481-5091, or email us at saveourstrays03@yahoo.com if you can be a shelter home.
Becoming a Foster Home In an effort to serve the many cats and kittens that need help, we are continually looking to expand our list of foster homes. If you can help, or know someone who can, even on a temporary basis, please contact us at saveourstrays03@yahoo.com or call (727) 481-5091. General Information for Foster Homes:
2. If you have cats and/or dogs, they must be current on their vaccinations and be sterilized. 3. Save Our Strays provides food and litter (if requested) and a cage or condo cage if necessary. These are kept in a central location for pick up. Medical expenses are also covered. The cat or kitten must go to one of our vets. You most likely will have to transport the cat to the vet and also to one of the outlets for adoption. 4. All cats MUST stay inside.
OTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES In addition to foster homes, Save Our Strays Inc.needs volunteers for Fundraising Events. We participate in several events throughout the year. This might include the spring Get Rescued Event in Gulfport, the Festival of Pets in April and Borders gift wrapping during the Christmas season. Most of our volunteers also foster and don't have the time to care for the cats, go to Petsmart and attend fundraising events - and work full time. Fundraising events are fun and a great way to spread the word about rescue in general and Save Our Strays in particular. We also need people to help with transporting cats to the vet and to Petsmart. If you're interested in volunteering call 727-481-5091 and leave your name and address and we'll mail you a volunteer application. Or you can email us with your email address and we'll email the forms (they're Word documents). VOLUNTEER TODAY
